Home of the Marauder M100 Build Thread - Rendering by Chris Hickman

Stripes by Scotty ("OUT TO LUNCH" UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE)

My name is Scotty George. I am from Salt Lake City and have been pinstriping since 2010 minus a 2 year break while serving a religious service mission in Madagascar. I am a graduate from the Collision Repair and Street Rod programs from UVU and am currently working full time as a paint technician at US Street Rods & Collision in Spanish Fork, UT. Pinstriping is a hobby for me, not a full time gig and with recent life events and the pandemic I am NOT currently taking on any new projects. I will reassess this situation Summer 2021, until then I will refer any jobs that are presented to me to one of my friends or other local pinstripe artists, thank you for understanding.

I am posting both pinstriping and updates on my truck build here on this blog to help keep everything in one place. If you are looking into having some pinstriping done, I am open to answer any questions you have and would like to hear about your project. I am NOT a full time pinstriper though so my availability is constantly changing and based on what other projects I have committed to.

Baggers & Bobbles

It's been a busy past month or so for me and my brushes.
End of November brought an opportunity to
pinstripe a beautiful 1997 Harley bagger that was
freshly built, along with a 1972 Rolls Royce.
End of November brought lots of demand for Christmas
ornaments, and now my 4th t shirt design is underway.
One particular job that hit close to home was for
a set of frosted ornaments with bright red
pinstriping. This set of 24 was done for a friend from
school. His wife grew up with Elder Matt Palmer
who was serving an LDS mission in Madagascar where
I served several years ago. Matt was serving in
the same city I ended my mission in when he began
experiencing severe headaches that were later found
to be the result of a brain aneurysm. Matt was
flown to South Africa for higher medical attention
where he died several days later. Matt, in a final act of service
donated many of his organs in South Africa where
doctors were able to help over 80 people receive
the medical attention they had been waiting for.
What an amazing act of kindness. I was asked to pinstripe
a set of ornaments for a tree that was displayed
at the Salt Lake City, Utah Festival of Trees this year
in honor of this young man. How grateful I am for this
opportunity, and every project I am given.
Thanks for everyone's love and support, looking forward
to more wonderful things in more places in 2015!
-Scotty

Right Back at it Again - A Day to Remember

A Day to Remember is one of my favorite music groups from today's
era... A recent album 'Common Courtesy' talks about taking
a short break, but being Right Back at it Again, as was the title for
their tour for the album as it seemed to be immediately after one they had
just finished... so the last few months have been absolutely hectic for me
with school, finals, moving, getting married, starting school again,
switching into a new job and others wrapping up for a season...
So I haven't had a lot of brush time in the last month or so, but I'm getting back
into it to get ready for KULTURE KRASH next month.
A new car show that myself and the other local Utah Pinstripers/Artists are
putting together to be a Car Show/Art Auction where we are all donating
pieces of art that will be given away or auctioned off with the
proceeds going to help kids and families in need of some
help this Christmas Season!
Please mark your calendars for October 25th, come out and support
this worthy cause and take home some unique one of a kind artwork!
See the top of the page for the flyer!
In the meantime here are some photos from what I have had time to work on
the past few months.  A couple of hot rods, panels and a Yamaha Virago!
Thanks for visiting!

As I mentioned.. I'm married now! She loves to paint too!
Mostly her finger/toenails but now we paint together!

Christmas ornaments are back in season apparently,
Already sent a set to Alabama!

Lots more coming your way! Plenty of stuff in the works for KULTURE KRASH,
another T shirt design in the works, and possibly prints of a few popular pieces
like Monsters Under the Bed and a new one in the works!
Feel free to email or call me about Christmas Ornaments, pricing is a little
different this year!  If you haven't already, go search STRIPES BY SCOTTY
on Facebook and like my page there, it gets updated a little more frequently!

Emmett Idaho Show N Shine

Last weekend took me with a few of my buddies up to
Emmett Idaho for a one day show that was an absolute blast.
Armed with 44 oz Stinker Station fountain drinks, 1Shot,
swords and daggers and the one and only OCHO,
Matt, Andy and I were able to leave our mark on quite a few
cars, trucks and other random this and that's over the weekend for the
car show.  What a blast it was to attend my first show out of state
and meet an entirely new hot rod community and see many
cars/trucks/hot rods for the first time, definitely planning to
do more of these shows out of town in the future!

From Manti to Logan... Rat Fink Reunion and Cache Valley Cruise In 2014!!!

Been a few minutes since I posted last ... I've been pretty busy these last few months with work and school, and now getting married in August! Here are some shots of work I was able to do at two of Utah's best 3 day Car Shows, the Rat Fink Reunion and Cache Valley Cruise In.  For anyone who hasn't been to either of these shows I would highly recommend you put them on your calendar for the coming years.  This was my first time attending the Reunion in Manti put on by Ilene Roth, widow of Ed BIG DADDY Roth, creator of Rat Fink and world renowned Kustom car builder.  You get to hang out at their ranch in Manti, display your artwork and meet tons of amazing artists, walk through Ed's old garage which has been turned into a Rat Fink and Pinstriping museum, hear live bands and so much more!  If I have my way, I'll never miss this show again.
The Cruise In, is Utah's largest 3 day show, held in Logan, UT.  It averages 900+ cars every year in the Cache Valley fairgrounds... complete with a Poker Run on Thursday, Show and Concert on Friday with a big Classic Rock band (This year was REO SPEEDWAGON) and of course the main show on Saturday full of beautiful cars, trucks and vendors, swap meet etc.  Saturday night they draw a raffle ticket and give away a restored classic car! The show concludes with a 2 hour main street cruise where the town is essentially shut down while the Logan county residents line the streets with lawn chairs and blankets to watch as hundreds of classic and custom cars/trucks cruise up and down main street making noise and showing off! Both are favorite summer traditions of mine and I look forward to many more years of attendance and pinstriping! Thanks for looking here are a few recent projects!

Oh, by the way... I am now authorized to use Ed Roth's characters
in my artwork... this includes Rat Fink, so I'm open for more
than just pinstriping now! If you have a project,
give me a call and figure something out!
